The Design Brief
This Umina Beach project came to us as a large double corner block containing an original 1950s beach shack. The clients as a growing young family required the addition of a small self sufficient home to the southern corner of the block.
Although compact it was important to my clients and I to ensure that this little house had a proper entry, delineation between public and private, and good outdoor living and garden spaces so that the small (and in the end, big impact) rituals of life are provided for despite it's tiny footprint.
Clever use of highlight windows were incorporated to frame some lovely outlooks (and strategically screening out the non perfect ones.
Posting of this project is a work in progess.
